Orchid Thai Restaurant opened its' doors in downtown San Anselmo on June 20, 1985. When Peggy and Tom Thongnopneua opened Orchid Thai, it was one of the first Thai Restaurants in Marin County. Since that time, Orchid Thai has won numerous awards and given acclaimed reviews in newspapers, including the Marin Independent Journal and the San Francisco Chronicle. In 2001, it was voted into the Marin County Restaurant Hall of Fame by the Pacific Sun.

Peggy and Tom are renowned for their impeccable customer service and dedication to quality. Prior to opening Orchid Thai, Tom spent 10+ years at Le Central in San Francisco. At Le Central he executed his creativity and vision through French cuisine. Orchid Thai is the combined vision of Peggy and Tom, which results in a unique culinary fusion of traditional Thai with a touch of French flare plus friendly service.
